The Asian Pacific American Coalition (APAC) held its 7th Annual Gala and Awards Dinner on March 9, 2019, at the Town & Country Resort in Mission Valley (San Diego). The Lions of the San Diego United Lions Club hosted a table of ten as community leaders, business executives, nonprofits, and elected officials came together to celebrate and recognize significant students and leaders who influence and champion civic engagement in San Diego.

Additionally, select students were judged and recognized with scholarships at the award gala. Bouavanh Rasih received the LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD. Our very own, Lion Allen, Immediate Past President, SDULC, was asked to say a few words on stage and received kudos from APAC Member Mitz Lee, Master of Ceremonies as well as the Chief of Police, San Diego.

Entertainment included a small ensemble, singer(s), and special guest entertainer, Lloyd Aron Douglas – who performed a special Elvis Tribute in costume. Additionally, Lions from other clubs were present, so the APAC gala gave SDULC members time to socialize with other Lions and Leos from multiple regions/areas, and learn more about APAC, cultural diversity, and outstanding leaders in our community.

Dinner was extremely good, entertainment excellent, and time spent with the “Lion family” quite enjoyable. What a fun and entertaining evening!
