Michael Brandenburg presided as President of the San Diego United Lions Club (SDULC) from 2020 through 2022. SDULC, as a chapter of the world’s largest community service non-profit Lions Club International (LCI), enables Mike to help people and communities near and far. Mike has served as a SDULC team member and as a past SDULC officer in the roles of Treasurer & First Vice President.

Mike served our Nation around the globe, during peacetime and conflict, with the United States Navy and is now a retired veteran.  In the earlier part of his career, Mike served as an Aviation Electronics Technician with two Western Pacific deployments and as a VAST shift supervisor at Aviation Intermediate Maintenance Department, North Island, CA. In the later part of his career, Mike served in the Navy Reserve Intelligence Command with a myriad of assignments and completed tours that included USPACOM, USCENTCOM (at San Diego, at HQ and in Iraq), and Navy Reserve Intelligence Command as a Training Officer for Intelligence Officer Indoctrination. Mike retired as a Navy “mustang” and “Limited Duty Officer (LDO),” at the rank of Lieutenant after 24 years of service.

Mike holds a B.A in Economics from UCSD. In 2022, he retired from Northrop Grumman where he was employed in Kearny Mesa as a Facilities Project Manager. He has over 30 years of credited service. Mike has been home based in San Diego since he arrived from Iowa in October of 1976 to attend Navy Boot Camp.
